Editorial Policy
Our Editorial Standards
K-Pop Atlas is an informational reference site, not a fan site or news outlet. Our content aims to be factual, neutral, and useful. We do not publish opinion pieces, ranking lists, or promotional content.
Neutrality
All content on K-Pop Atlas is written with a neutral, informational tone. We do not:
- Take sides in fandom disputes or comparisons
- Rank groups or members by popularity, talent, or personal preference
- Use sensational or clickbait-style language
- Publish rumors, speculation, or unverified claims
When a topic involves community debate (such as generation boundaries or group categorization), we present the most commonly accepted view and note where reasonable disagreement exists.
Content Types
K-Pop Atlas publishes the following types of content:
- Entity profiles: Factual overviews of groups, members, and agencies
- Timeline data: Chronological events, releases, and milestones
- Graph context: Explanations of how entities are connected (shared agencies, member transfers, generational relationships)
- Explainers: Educational content about K-pop industry structure, terminology, and history
How We Handle Corrections
Accuracy is our top priority. When an error is identified:
- We review the reported issue against official sources
- Factual errors are corrected as quickly as possible
- Significant corrections are noted on the affected page
- We credit community members who report verified errors (if they wish)
To report an error, email [email protected] with the subject line "Correction" and include a link to a supporting source.
Sensitive Topics
K-pop, like any entertainment industry, occasionally involves sensitive situations (member departures, contract disputes, personal controversies). Our approach:
- We include factual events that materially affect group history (e.g., member departure dates)
- We do not include personal controversies, legal disputes, or private matters unless they directly resulted in a public industry change
- We use neutral, respectful language in all cases
